Teaching Philosophy

Roger’s teachers taught him that “Pilates always meets you where you’re at.” He embodies that credo by being present with clients to best serve their needs, eschewing a rote style of teaching movement. Encouragement and positive feedback are foundations of his practice. Equipped with a depth of movement knowledge, Roger is adept at taking Pilates exercises apart and putting them back together, facilitating movement that is accessible, and successful, for clients. He has worked with clients who have experienced strokes, those diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, pregnant clients, clients pre and post various injuries and operations, as well as athletes and dancers.

Understanding that movement patterns are inherently neither good nor bad, Roger helps clients create awareness of their patterns in order to choose optimal movement, allowing ease to flow as clients move from the inside out.
